Deputies Taser threatening suspect

When Sheriff’s deputies went to look for a suspect wanted on a warrant in the 700 block of Arroyo Road, they didn’t find the person they were looking for, but they find her brother who was on probation and appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

At about 9:04 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, deputies went looking for the woman and found her brother instead. The man fled from the deputies and while running, was emptying his pockets of a small amount of marijuana and a glass smoking pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine.

The man stopped and reportedly came at the deputies in a threatening manner. Deputies had to Taser the man in order to cuff him for transport to jail.

James Heywood, 35, of the Springs, was charged with felony probation violation, obstructing a peace officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Tuesday, Oct. 30:

8:04 a.m. – Indecent exposure. Deputies were called to the 17000 block of Highway 12 after a mother who was waiting for a bus with her children reported that just as the bus arrived, a man stepped in front of her and the children and dropped his trousers. While deputies were taking the report at a local school, the woman spotted the man and pointed him out to deputies. The 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with indecent exposure and a probation violation.

9 a.m. – Jewelry theft. A resident in the 23000 block of Ramal Road reported that someone entered their unlocked residence and made off with a jewelry box containing $5,000 worth of jewelry.

Wednesday, Oct. 31:

1:40 p.m. – Hiding in garage. Deputies responded to a residence in the 300 block of Dechene Avenue for a report of a woman hiding in the garage. When deputies arrived, they saw the woman in the garage holding her own dog. Deputies kept asking the woman to step out of the garage, but the woman was having none of it. The deputies finally convinced the woman to come out and they arrested Jane Fonseca, 50, of Sonoma, on charges of felony burglary, obstructing a peace officer and a probation violation.

Thursday, Nov. 1:

7:29 a.m. – Family dispute. Deputies were called to a residence in the 18000 block of Comstock Avenue for a report of a disturbance. It seems that a woman and her sister-in-law were having a dispute and the sister-in-law reportedly slapped and pushed the victim. The victim made a citizens arrest for battery on her 47-year-old sister-in-law.

10:36 a.m. – Keyed. A resident in the 900 block of Grove Street reported that sometime overnight an unknown someone keyed his vehicle on the fender, doors and tailgate.

Friday, Nov. 2:

7:06 p.m. – Frequent flier grounded. Deputies were sent to a residence in the 300 block of Verano Avenue. As they approached the residence, they could hear someone breaking things and shouting obscenities. When the deputies knocked at the door, the person who answered was one of the Valley’s frequent fliers – and he was intoxicated. Since the 33-year-old man was on probation with terms that included not to possess or consume alcohol, the man was arrested on a probation violation.

Saturday, Nov. 3:

7:03 p.m. – ‘Arrest me … please.’ Deputies were sent to Sonoma Valley Hospital for an intoxicated accident victim who was being disruptive and was trying to leave the hospital. Deputies and the California Highway Patrol arrived at the hospital about the same time. The woman tried again to walk out of the hospital and dared the deputies to arrest her, so they obliged and arrested the 27-year-old Daly City woman on charges of public intoxication and obstructing a peace officer.
