Dems open headquarters

Sep 20, 2012 - 04:01 PM

Editor, Index-Tribune:

The Sonoma Valley Democrats hosted their grand opening party last Thursday to celebrate the opening of their new election headquarters at 20079 Broadway, across from Sonoma Valley High School. We would like to thank all who joined us in this event, with special thanks to Assemblymember Mariko Yamada, campaigning to represent us in the Springs and Glen Ellen; Chairperson of 10th Assembly District Democrats, Evelyn Woo; Sean Hamlin, representing Assemblymember Michael Allen, whose district includes the City of Sonoma; nonpartisan candidate for Supervisor Susan Gorin; Sonoma Mayor Pro Tem Ken Brown; City Councilmember Steve Barbose; and City Councilmember Laurie Gallian.

Many thanks also to the people who helped put this event together, and who made it a very successful evening. We are working to re-elect President Barack Obama, and to elect a Democratic majority in Congress and in the State Legislature. Our mission is to inform and educate our members and our community about the issues and the candidates for this upcoming, Nov. 6 election.

All are invited to visit our election headquarters to pick up election literature, bumper stickers and buttons. Also, we need volunteers to register voters, walk precincts, phone bank and to participate in projects that will help our election efforts. More information can be found on our website, svdemocrats.com.
