J Love Productions will bring its popular “Defying Gravity” musical revue back to Andrews Hall of the Sonoma Community Center for a two-night reprise on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 25 and 26, at 7:30 p.m.

The production, a musical tongue-in-cheek romp from adolescence to maturity, features local performers Lori Bailey, Kerry Daly, Laura Bloom Farber, Jaime Love, Jeane MacPherson and Monica McKey.

“We got such a warm response from our audiences last month, we wanted to repeat the show for folks who may’ve missed it,” said Love. “The evening includes both poignant and funny songs that reflect the joys and tribulations of our lives.”

Musical director and keyboardist Farber will be joined once again by bass player John Paul Norris and drummer Marc Ikeda. “Defying Gravity” is part of the Sonoma Theatre Alliance’s “Summer Nights” series, which features a variety of artists in weeknight performances throughout the theatre festival season.

“Last month we donated our proceeds to the Rotary Club’s Challenge Grant dedicated to renovations in Andrews Hall. This show’s proceeds will be split between the Challenge Grant and the Sonoma Theatre Alliance,” said Love, who is producer of J Love Productions and executive director of the Sonoma Theatre Alliance. Renovations to make Andrews Hall a dedicated performance space are scheduled to begin January of 2013.

Tickets are $16 and are available through the Sonoma Valley Box Office by calling 938-4626, ext. 1; online at sonomacommunitycenter.org; or in person at the Sonoma Community Center, 276 E. Napa St.
