Crush offers hands-on harvest activities
Heart of Sonoma Valley Association is now selling tickets for the 2012 Sonoma Valley Crush events happening Sept. 26 to 30. Sixteen wineries throughout the Heart of Sonoma Valley will be participating in this ‘Hands-On’ Harvest Experience. Guests will not only get a behind-the-scenes look at what happens during harvest, but they’ll have the opportunity to get involved.
For five days, wineries will be offering a variety of harvest events, including grape sampling in the vineyards, crush pad tours, harvest winemaker lunches and more. Winery harvest events are priced separately and require booking directly with the wineries.
The 5-day festival will culminate with a Weekend Harvest Tasting at 16 wineries throughout the Valley on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29 and 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. The Weekend Harvest Pass is $35 a person and will give guests access to weekend harvest activities and wine tastings at participating wineries’ tasting rooms and includes a souvenir wineglass.
Participating wineries include Audelssa Estate Winery, Deerfield Ranch Winery, Enkidu Wines, Eric Ross Winery, Kaz Winery, Kenwood Vineyards, Little Vineyards, Loxton Cellars, Mayo Family Winery, Moondance Cellars, Muscardini Cellars, Paradise Ridge Winery, Ty Caton Vineyards, Valley of the Moon Winery, VJB Vineyards and Cellars.
“We invite anyone who has ever romanticized about getting involved with harvest, hands-on, to come out to the 2012 Sonoma Valley Crush event. It’s going to be unforgettable,” said Josie Gay, executive director of the Heart of the Valley Association.
