Council members for president?

  In reference to the Sept. 21 article in the Index-Tribune, “Water rate hike nixed,” I for one was very glad and relieved to read that the Sonoma City Council rejected (by a 5-0 vote) the water rate hike.

  In this article, one of the council members said this rate hike would put a terrible strain on the consumers. That, dear people, is an under-statement if I ever heard one. WE consumers are not the ones that abuse the privilege of having water at our disposal.

  Maybe some of you council members should run for president.
