The magical memory of David “Lumpy” Williams will be celebrated in song on Sunday, Dec. 2. MusicWorks Sonoma will offer “Christmas in Sonoma” at 4 p.m. at St. Francis Solano Church.

Williams was Sonoma’s longtime Santa Claus, who passed away on Oct. 16. He was slated to play Santa at the concert, so the musicians are instead celebrating his legacy with the holiday concert. Williams was a longtime Sonoma resident, active in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley, the Sebastiani Theatre Foundation, the Sonoma Community Center and the Sonoma Valley Chorale.

There is no charge to attend the concert,

but donations will be accepted.

The church is located at 469 Third St. W.

Some of my fondest memories of living in Sonoma involve bringing Santa to City Hall to light the lights. (And of Robbie keeping Santa out in the rain for an hour taking photos on the old Fire Engine... Or the time that Robbie wanted a photo of Santa sliding down the then-new fire pole...) :o)
