Christmas at the Mission tickets available Saturday

The beloved holiday tradition of celebrating the season with a candlelit ceremony at the Mission San Francisco Solano returns on Dec. 8.
Free tickets to Christmas at the Mission will be given away beginning Saturday, Nov. 17, and are usually all snatched up within one day.
The California State Parks in cooperation with the Sonoma Petaluma State Historic Parks Association presents Christmas at the Mission, which marks its 27th year in Sonoma. On Saturday, Dec. 8. Programs will take place at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.
The Sonoma Valley Ministerial Association coordinates the Mission chapel program, which includes traditional carols and readings. Refreshments are served following the program at the Toscano Hotel.
Christmas at the Mission participants should be prepared to stand for long periods as there is very limited seating available in the chapel, and dress for inclement weather as portions of the program is held outdoors.
The Sonoma League for Historic Preservation will also host a free holiday open house for the public at the Gen. Hooker House (El Paseo de Sonoma) and the Maysonnave House, 291 First St. E., from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Due to the popularity of this event, admission is by ticket only. Tickets are free, but go quickly. There is a limit of four tickets a person.
Attendees are encouraged to consider donating to the Sonoma Petaluma State Historic Park Association as it has supported this program for 27 years at no cost to the community. Tickets will be available beginning Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Mission located at the corner of First Street East and East Spain Streets. The Mission is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Sonoma State Historic Park is a California State Park and includes Mission San Francisco Solano, the Toscano Hotel and Kitchen, the Sonoma Barracks, the Casa Grande site and Servant’s Quarters, and Gen.Vallejo’s Home and historic fields.
