Cave dinner to aid film fest

Dec 6, 2012 - 03:40 PM

The Sonoma Film Society is ringing in the season with a holiday cave dinner at Benziger Family Winery on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m.

The evening will begin with an intimate cocktail reception at Oak Terrace Barn, accompanied with a performance by world-renowned VOENA Choir, which has performed at the White House, Carnegie Hall (NYC), the 2012 London Summer Olympics and most recently during the San Francisco 49ers half-time show. Swedish Lucia Maidens will escort dinner guests to the luxurious Benziger Cave where an intimate dinner by Elaine Bell Catering will be served by candlelight. Each course will be expertly paired with Benziger wines.

Tickets are $175 and can be purchased at sonomafilmfest.org. Sonoma Film Society Producer members can enjoy free attendance; while other members will receive discounted tickets. Members can reserve by contacting Ginny at ginny@sonomafilmfest.org.

Now in its 16th year, the Sonoma International Film Festival is set for April 10 to 14, and will include more than 90 hand-selected films including independent features, documentaries, world cinema, shorts and a showcase of Spanish language films. Through Jan. 9, passes to the 2013 festival will be discounted. The Movies Only pass, which includes all films and panel discussions, is $145; the Premiere Pass, which includes all films and panels, the opening night reception, the celebrity tribute, Latino party and awards party, is $340; and the Star Pass, with VIP access to all festival events along with a private dinner in the hospitality tent, is $765.
