Catalan Fest turns 25
Celebrate Gloria Ferrer’s 25th anniversary at the Catalan Festival over the weekend of July 21 and 22. The event commemorates the Ferrer family’s Spanish roots and the founding of the winery in July 1986 at this annual event that showcases wines inspired by the unique spirit of Catalonia.
During this anniversary year, visitors can expect authentic Catalan and Spanish dishes from many of the Bay Area’s best Spanish restaurants, all featuring traditional fare. José Castaneda will conduct paella demonstrations, while classical Spanish guitarist Eric Symons will accompany Flamenco dancers throughout the weekend. Authentic Spanish pottery and traditional foods will be available, encouraging guests to take home and share their experiences of the Catalan Festival.
New this year are grape stomps, seminars of Spanish wines and a re-creation of Las Ramblas, the popular main street in Barcelona.
