Brass-knuckled bottom-liners for Sawyer?
Editor, Index-Tribune:
Susan Gorin should be our 1st District Supervisor. “Birds of a feather flock together,” and after talking at length with her and her many Sonoma Valley supporters, it’s clear she understands the complex challenges ahead and shares our Valley’s priorities.
Her Santa Rosa opponent’s priorities are reflected in his flock of supporters, too: Big developers and realtors, Farm Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, Sonoma Alliance, 1 percenters and huge PACs from far outside our district, all of whom stuff his coffers with campaign cash. Brass-knuckled bottom-liners all, who doubts they will expect – demand? – a return on their investment from one who seldom fails to parrot their viewpoint?
They are tombstone environmentalists for whom money bulldozes nature, and people, every time. With his blessing, they would obligingly name their
every water-sucking mega-project in our Valley after a species paved over during construction.
In seeking the right balance of fiscal, economic, environmental and common sense solutions our Valley needs, there is more comfort in the informed, community-based approach, instincts and priorities of Susan Gorin and the Valley flock she soars with.
Migrating into an uncertain future, birds of a feather seldom forget which way is home.
