BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS of Sonoma Valley have extended their basketball sign-up sessions for boys and girls in third-through-eighth grades from from 2 to 6 p.m. today, tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 3, and this Thursday, Oct. 4, at the BGCSV Clubhouse in Maxwell Farms Regional Park, 100 Verano Ave. Cost is $60 for club members and $180 for non-members, which includes one-year of club membership. The four leagues – third-through-fifth and sixth-through-eighth grades for both girls and boys – run from November to February 2013. SONOMA VALLEY TENNIS Association will host its SVTA Fall Mixed Doubles Round Robin Tournament – cost is $10 a player – on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Maxwell Farms Regional Park courts. Also, the SVTA is offering a free program for beginners and returning players – under the direction of teaching pros Sam Levy and Jordan Walker – from 3 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, Oct. 20 and 27, and Nov. 3 and 10, at the Maxwell Farms courts. MURPHY’S IRISH PUB’S 16th annual Bottomfeeders Open will take place Friday, Oct. 12, at Oakmont Golf Club’s West Course. For more information, stop by the pub or go to www.vintagehouse.org.
