Bookmobile gives out free books
Submitted photo
The Free Bookmobile of Sonoma County seeks to promote literacy and a love of reading by giving away high-quality books to people throughout the region. In its mission of outreach, the free Bookmobile seeks to serve children and senior citizens living in rural and low-income areas. Rather than loan books, the bookmobile passes them out, free of charge. It also functions behind the scenes as an exchange, keeping its shelves full by collecting donations from individuals, publishers and bookstore overstock, and library extras. Donations of high-quality texts are always welcome. The Bookmobile pulled up to the Boys & Girls Club of Sonoma Valley last month and shown here enjoying new books are second-graders Lily Seguro and Alvaro Gutierrez, both of El Verano Elementary School, with Danielle Suico, Maxwell Clubhouse director.
