Birthday for the Boys & Girls Club set

There will be a sea of blue at the Tuesday night farmers market on Tuesday, June 12 as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley take over in honor of its 50th anniversary.

 Lillian Brunton, of the Cake Corner, will provide the birthday cake and all are invited to come, bring a picnic and celebrate the club.

 Attendees are encouraged to wear their signature blue “95476” T-shirts, proceeds of which benefit the club.

 Those who would like to purchase a shirt can do so on Tuesday, or contact Katie Holden at kholden@bgcsonoma.org.

 The celebration continues on Saturday, June 16, with the Founder’s Day Celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Maxwell Farms Club, 100 W. Verano Ave., Sonoma. The theme is “be a kid for a day,” and activities include a ping pong tournament, maze, face painting, arts and crafts, tug of war, rock climbing on the club’s climbing wall and an obstacle course.

Free food and beverages will be offered by Mary’s Pizza Shack, Sonoma Market, Pepsi Co., Pop Chips, Café Scooteria and Harvey’s Gourmet Mini Donuts.
