Bark in the Park set for July 28
Greetings Sonoma!
Hope you are enjoying the cool down of the weather. I know the cats and dogs are happy for it. Hopefully we will have a cool day for our Bark in the Park event on July 28 in Depot Park. But we will have misters, water bowls and a few doggie pools for canine cool downs if we have a hot one. Have you registered your dog for the Pooch Promenade yet? If not, go online right now and sign up. We are eager for advance registrations so we can have all your goodie bags ready to go when you check in for the parade.
It’s going to be big fun for the kids, the canines and the adults. A giant jumpy, PoPo the clown, popcorn and treats for the kids; food, wine and music for the adults; and a doggie lounge under the shade trees for the precious pooches after the parade.
This day is special to us, not only because it is a fundraiser for your beloved Pets Lifeline, but it is also a celebration of people and their dogs. So please come and show your pooch pride by joining us at Depot Park on July 28.
Now as much as we love to celebrate our dogs, we can’t forget our feline friends now can we? So we’re bringing the cats there, too. What? They will be safe and sound in the comfort of our Mobile Animal Center, which we will have on display and use as an offsite adoption area for the cute kittens and cats. And to commemorate our 30th anniversary, the adoption fee for any cat or dog under 30 pounds will be $30 for the whole day.
Are you looking for a sweet little dog to snuggle up with? We have several smaller dogs who are just waiting to meet you. There’s Oreo, our little brindle Boston Terrier mix; Max, the dachshund chi mix with one ear always folded over (cute as can be); Lorenzo, the Italian stallion of Chihuahua mixes; Jerry and Bear, who are sweet little black chi terrier mixes; Timmy, the golden chi who loves attention.
If cats are more your thing, then we have just what the doctor ordered. Two whole rooms full of them. Wonderful adults that ended up here for one reason or another who only need a little love. Like Huckleberry, our fluffy polydactyl boy; or Duchess, the beautiful harlequin tortie who is quite regal indeed. In the kitten department, there are the stinkin’ cutest black kittens you have ever seen. Othello, Vinny, Cindy and Kate ... just to name a few. Come on down and check them out.
