Argentinean film ‘Anita’ shown

Jan 16, 2012 - 12:00 PM

The Sonoma International Film Festival and the Sonoma Community Center are partnering to offer a screening of the heartfelt Argentinean film “Anita.”

The screening takes place Tuesday, Jan. 24, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the film at 7 p.m. at the Sonoma Community Center, 276 E. Napa St.

In the film, Anita Feldman, a young woman with Down syndrome, lives a happy routine life, meticulously cared for by her mother. One tragic morning changes everything, and Anita is left alone, confused and helpless. As she wanders through the city, she not only learns to care for herself, but touches the lives of those around her.

The film was featured in the 2011 film festival, where it won Best International Feature.

Squire and Suzy Fridell of Glen Lyon Winery will pour wine during the event.

Tickets are $20 and include the screening, pizza and wine.
