Angela Williams

We lost an angel on May 3, 2012. Angela Williams (Caviglia) passed away with her family at her side at Queen of The Valley Hospital in Napa, as a result of a sudden attack of pancreatitis.

Angie was born April 16, 1948, in Santa Rosa and she graduated from Montgomery High School in 1966.

She married the love of her life Alfred “Lee” Williams in 1972. They had almost 30 years together before his passing in August 2002. Angie loved camping and traveling with Lee, and she enjoyed going with him to functions and trap shoots at the Valley of The Moon Trap Club.

Angie retired from State Farm Insurance after 37 years of service. After retirement, she worked part-time at Farmers Insurance in Sonoma for a few years. Some of her favorite pastimes included going out to lunch, playing poker with the girls, and gambling at River Rock, Shokawah, and Casino 101. She especially looked forward to her frequent trips to Harrah’s in Tahoe with her cousin, Claudia.

In fact, they just celebrated her birthday there a few weeks ago. She was very lucky most of the time in all of her gambling endeavors, and was thrilled each year to make “Diamond” status at Harrah’s with all of the comps and privileges that it entailed.

Angie was a generous and caring person and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her upbeat personality was infectious, and you could always count on her to be there for you. One friend said, “I can’t begin to tell you how many lives Angie touched … she will be missed by more people than she ever imagined.”

Angie is survived by her aunt, Olga Ansani; cousins, Claudia Willow, Sandy Jonas (Bruce) and Dennis Wolcott (Annette); and Goddaughter, Gina Melton (Jamie) and Kira and Travis Melton all of Santa Rosa; stepson, David Williams; step-granddaughter, Nicole Williams; mother-in-law, Hazel Perry; brother-in-law, Richard (Kathy) Perry, all of Sonoma; and sister-in-law, Levenia (Jimmy) Shahan of Fairfield.

In addition to her husband Lee, she was preceded in death by her loving parents, Alfred “Freddy” and Rose Caviglia.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa, on Friday, May 18, 2012, at 1 p.m., followed by an inurnment at Calvary Cemetery, and a reception afterward.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
