All-Empire softball for Lady Dragon standouts Rocha, Vail

With their strong and productive seasons, both offensively and defensively, for the Sonoma Valley High School varsity softball girls’ team during the 2012 spring campaign, two Lady Dragon standouts received All-Empire honors from The Press Democrat on Friday.

Sonoma’s sophomore outfielder and catcher Lindsey Rocha was named to the All-Empire second-team, while junior third-baseman Ashley Vail was a third-team selection.

The two Lady Dragons had also garnered season-ending all-league recognition from the Sonoma County League, with Rocha being an SCL first-team all-leaguer along with Vail, who was one of the league’s top five vote-getters for player of the year.
