Albert Di Grazia

  Albert Di Grazia, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on Oct. 22, 2012.

Caring and devoted husband of Naomi; dear brother of Joan; and loving father of David, Craig and Diane Di Grazia; he was cherished by his five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

  A California native, he was born in Ross on Dec. 18, 1926 and raised in San Rafael. He and Naomi were married in 1954 at the Church of the Wayfarer in Carmel. They raised their family in Novato, and moved to Sonoma in 1991. Proud Navy Veteran of World War II on the transport USS Grafton APA-109, he worked as an electrician at Hamilton Field and USAF Radar Site on Mount Tamalpais, where he retired as site foreman after 34 years of federal service.

  Generous in his enthusiasm for life, he loved sailing, motor racing, music and photography. He enjoyed travel, a good glass of wine and the company of people and animals. He inspired laughter and warmth and enjoyed many happy times with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him and whose lives were touched by his presence.

  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 10, at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park in Sebastopol. Following the service, family and close friends will gather to celebrate Albert’s life. For their kindness and care, donations may be made to Hospice of Petaluma.
