A new councilmember gives thanks
Editor, Index-Tribune:
First of all, I want to thank the 2,680 citizens who voted to elect me to the Sonoma City Council. You were part of something special, and in the next four years I will prove to all of you that you made the right decision.
Many people helped me achieve my dream to become part of the City Council.
Jennifer Irving, my campaign manager as well as my good friend, deserves enormous credit for working hard during the campaign, and I want to thank her and her family for all they do and for being part of my family.
My parents, even though they died when I was young, taught me how to be independent, honest and they always reminded me of how lucky I was, even on the worst of days. Because of them I am who I am.
I want to thank outgoing Mayor Joanne Sanders for her support. She, Morgan and their entire family are great people. I’m glad to consider them friends.
Mayor Pro Tem Tom Rouse and Michelle Rouse, Mayor Ken Brown, Steve Page, Ray Mulas, Vicki Mulas, Dan Parks, Steve Ledson, Mike Brocco, James Cannard, Christopher Oscar and my brother, Don Cook, are others I want to thank.
I also want to thank the Sonoma County Alliance, the North Bay Realtors Association and the Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce for its strong endorsement.
The next four years are going to be challenging and I give my commitment that I will listen and be engaged in our community. It will be an honor to serve everyone. I can be reached at 490-8921 or by email at david@cvmgrapes.com.
