The Sonoma Valley Olive Season will once again host its beloved Feast of the Olive dinner at Ramekins Culinary School in Sonoma, at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26.

The event will showcase the Valley’s bounty of food and wine offerings and its second-largest crop, the olive, by bringing together 19 of the top area chefs to prepare a multi-course olive-inspired feast.

Now in its 12th season, the Feast of the Olive will feature Joel Riddell, host of “Dining Around” on KKSF-AM, as master of ceremonies.

During the event, each of the three candlelit tables will have a dedicated team of five or six executive chefs who will collaborate and prepare a five-course dinner of olive-inspired culinary creations. All dishes will be curated using local, artisan olives and olive oils, and will reflect each chef’s individual cooking styles while highlighting the camaraderie of the chefs in the kitchen. In addition, each course of the epicurean feast will be paired with award-winning Sonoma Valley wines.

Chefs participating this year come from Carneros Bistro and Wine Bar at the Lodge at Sonoma, Carneros Caves, Crisp Bake Shop, Depot Hotel Restaurant, El Dorado Kitchen, Glen Ellen Star, Hot Box Grill and LaSalette.

Also, Olive and Vine, Ramekins Culinary School, Saddles Steakhouse at MacArthur Place, Santé Restaurant at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, Sonoma Meritâge Martini Oyster Bar and Grill, the Epicurean Connection and the Girl and the Fig will participate.

The Olive Press and Figone’s Olive Oil Company will be among the participants showcasing premium extra virgin olive oils.

Wineries pouring during the dinner include Benziger Family Winery, B.R. Cohn Winery, Cline Cellars, Gloria Ferrer, Imagery Estate Winery, Jacuzzi Family Vineyards, Landmark Vineyards, Larson Family Winery and VJB Vineyards and Cellars.

The dinner takes place in the Vineyard Room at Ramekins, located at 450 W. Spain St. in Sonoma. Tickets are $150 and are available by calling 996-1090, ext 108.
