Workshop set for food entrepreneurs

Apr 4, 2011 - 09:37 PM

An upcoming workshop is designed to help local entrepreneurs go "From Kitchen to Market" and also provide the tools for packaged food startups to gain a competitive edge in growing their business.

"From Kitchen to Market" will be held on Tuesday, April 12, from 9 a.m. to noon in the conference room at the Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce.

It is one of three seminars being hosted this spring by the chamber in partnership with the Business and Entrepreneurship Center at Napa Valley College. These hands-on, highly interactive seminars are limited to 12 participants.

The worskhop instructor for "From Kitchen to Market" is Anni Minuzzo, a 26-year veteran of the specialty food industry and consultant for the Small Business Development Center in San Francisco and the North Bay. Topics covered include the planning and production process, capitalization options, creative marketing ideas and the distribution network.

Other entrepreneurship seminars to be held this spring include "The Business Side of Art" on May 5 and "Marketing Your Small Winery" on May 18.

The registration fee for each seminar is $25 for chamber members and $50 for non-members.

Advance registration is required. Contact the chamber at 996-1033. For workshop details or more information about programs and services available to local business through the chamber's Economic Development Partnership, visit SonomaValley4Biz.com.
