Winning student photographers

Students in Andy Mitchell’s Sonoma Valley High School photography class recently entered the annual Association of Texas Photography Instructors (ATPI) Fall Contest. Sonoma Valley was the only California school to have work chosen for the contest. Maddie Goertzen, whose photo of rain-splashed fall leaves appears above, received honorable mentions in both Advanced Animal and Nature. Other winners included Brinkley Capriola, who received honorable mention in Advanced Still Life and second place in Advanced Timed; Alyssa McDougle, who received honorable mention in Advanced Open; and Luke Lasley, who received honorable mention in Advanced Timed.
