Wine Cake recipe

A very Wine Country dessert

Ingredients:

  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 
3/4 cup oil
  • 
3/4 cup Sebastiani Symphony or other off-dry white wine

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 package vanilla pudding

  • 3/4 t. nutmeg


Frosting: 


  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 
1 package powdered sugar

  • 1/4 cup cream sherry

 

Preparation - Directions:

In a mixing bowl, place cake mix, oil and wine. Blend well, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add vanilla pudding and nutmeg and beat 4 minutes at medium speed. Bake for 45 minutes at 350° in tube pan, greased and floured.


Frosting:

Cream butter and add sugar gradually. Add sherry and blend well. Spread over cooled cake and serve.
