INFINEON RACEWAY’S 2011 major-event season recently ended, but Infineon’s popular Wednesday Night Drags – including the “Top the Cops” program and “Drifting” – continues every Wednesday through Nov. 16. SONOMA VALLEY TENNIS Association is hosting a Halloween PlayDay for boys and girls ages 6-to-14-years-old – the Quickstart play format will be used – from 10 a.m. to noon this Sunday, Oct. 30, at the Maxwell Farms Regional Park courts, and the kids are encouraged to wear costumes, with a prizes to be awarded for the best costume. Also, the SVTA is offering fall adult and re-entry free clinics from 3 to 4 p.m. every Saturday in October at the Maxwell Park courts.

 

VALLEY OF THE Moon Trap Club will hold its annual Thanksgiving meat shoot on Sunday, Nov. 20, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the club’s South Burndale Road site, with 120 turkeys up for grabs, five-man squads competing – squad sign-ups begin at 8:45 a.m. – and tickets cost $25 for five rounds. SONOMA’S ST. FRANCIS CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) basketball program for third- through eighth-grade boys’ and girls’ teams is currently holding 2011-12 season registration for all returning and new players. SONOMA AQUATIC CLUB is beginning its fall swim programs for ages 3-months-old to adults at the SAC site, 17350  Vailetti Drive. The programs include swim lessons (ages 3-and-older); stroke school (ages 5-and-older, deep-water safe); Sea Dragon swim team (novice/competitive – ages 5-and-older); junior lifeguard camps (ages 7-to-14); parent and tot water classes (ages 3-to-36 months); and adults and masters swim programs. There are also water polo clinics and fall fun-nights for ages 7-to-15 and adult categories. SONOMA BOCCE BALL Association has started summer league play at the bocce courts south of the gazebo in Depot Park, with the nine-week league sessions ending on Wednesday, Nov. 2.
