War against the middle class

Terrorists: Committed groups intimidating a population or a government into granting their demands. Sounds like the Republican party holding the debt ceiling over the American population to grant their demands to change Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, taking away a security net for seniors who depend on these programs to decide.

Instead of closing loopholes in the tax code and doing away with subsidies to oil companies, the Republican party is dedicated to corporations. Signing a pledge to Grover Norquist, they are destroying America and declaring war on the middle class.

The debt ceiling was raised eight times in the Bush administration. Why is it a problem now?
