THE VINTAGE RUN – a 5K-race and fundraiser for Sonoma Valley High School’s cross country and track and field programs – will take place during the Valley’s Vintage Festival weekend at 8 a.m. this Sunday, Sept. 25, starting and ending at Sebastiani Winery’s parking lot. INFINEON RACEWAY’S FINAL major event on its 2011 Big O Tires schedule will feature a wide array of historic cars at the popular Classic Sports Racing Group Charity Challenge taking place on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1 and 2. BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS of Sonoma Valley will hold two more basketball sign-up sessions for boys and girls in third-through-eighth grades from 6 to 7 p.m. tonight and Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the BGCSV Clubhouse in Maxwell Farms Regional Park, 100 Verano Ave. Cost is $60 for club members and $180 for non-members, which includes one-year of club membership, with a $10 late-registration fee. SONOMA’S ST. FRANCIS Solano’s CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) basketball program for third- through eighth-grade boys’ and girls’ teams is currently holding 2011-12 season registration for all returning and new players. The final mandatory evaluation day is this Sunday, Sept. 25, with practices beginning Monday, Oct. 17, and games starting the weekend of Dec. 3. New players need to provide a copy of their birth certificates with their sign-up forms and fees. Cost is $140 for first child and $95 for additional family members. SONOMA AQUATIC CLUB (formerly Agua Caliente Aquatic Center) continues its summer and upcoming fall swim programs for ages 3-months-old to adults at the SAC site, 17350 Vailetti Drive. The programs include swim lessons (ages 3-and-older); stroke school (ages 5-and-older, deep-water safe); Sea Dragon swim team (novice/competitive – ages 5-and-older); junior lifeguard camps (ages 7-to-14); parent and tot water classes (ages 3-to-36 months); and adults and masters swim programs.
