Valley’s SV, VOM Little Leagues have merged

In 1958, the long-established Sonoma Valley Little League was joined by the newly formed Valley of the Moon Little League in offering baseball to the Valley’s young athletes.

Now, more than a half-a-century with two Little League baseball associations, the Valley will have one united Little League, as Sonoma Valley and Valley of the Moon recently merged into the Sonoma Little League.

While a new website for Sonoma Little League is close to being completed and up online, an election meeting to form a board of directors will be held at 7 p.m. next Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Sonoma Firehouse, 630 Second St.W.

Members from both the former Sonoma Valley and Valley of the Moon Little Leagues are invited to cast their votes for the new Sonoma Little League’s eight-person board of directors – you must be present to vote.

A list of nominees will be available on the SVLL and VOMLL websites and additional nominations can be made prior to casting ballots on election night.
