Sonoma Valley Youth Soccer Association's select under-10-year-old boys’ Arsenal Division-1 team continued its impressive early season play by recently winning a pair of tournament titles.

The Sonoma under-10 Arsenal boys captured the Tiburon Fall Kick-Off championship the weekend of Aug. 27 and 28, before claiming the Santa Rosa Academy Cup crown at Santa Rosa’s Trione fields over Labor Day weekend.

Comprising the Sonoma Arsenal under-10 soccer boys are Samuel Contreras, Marco Della Santina, Arturo Fernandez, Max Handron, Ezekiel Hermosillo, Cristian Hernandez, Will Larson, Wyatt Larson, Miguel Nieves, Ricardo Resendiz, Jose Rodriguez, Leo Weiss, head coach Arturo Fernandez, assistant coaches Jose Hernandez and Carlos Rodriguez, and manager Becky Larson.

In winning the Tiburon Fall Kick-Off, the Valley’s Arsenal defeated Mill Valley, the East Bay Eclipse and the Mustang Thrashers by outscoring all three teams by a 17-2 margin, before beating the Mustang Revolution 6-2 in the final.

En route to taking home the Santa Rosa Academy Cup tourney title, the Sonoma under-10 boys routed both the Napa Valley Bulldogs and Ross Valley Breakers FC by scores of 8-1 and 7-1, respectively, then edged Castro Valley 2-0, followed by their dominating 7-0 shutout victory over Santa Rosa United Liverpool in the final, which earned them the championship-cup.
