Tyler Vincent Orsow
Tyler Vincent Orsow, a Calaveras resident, died Feb. 27, 2011, in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates. Tyler was 25 years old.
Tyler was born in Santa Rosa, on Feb. 27, 1986, to Terry L. Campbell and Donald Vincent Orsow.
He was raised in Sonoma and attended Sassarini and St. Francis schools before moving to Angels Camp in 1998. He attended Mark Twain Elementary School before graduating from Bret Harte High School in 2004.
Tyler attended San Jose State College and was finishing his college degree requirements. Tyler had a strong affinity for aviation having been exposed to flying at a very young age.
At 14, he soloed his glider; at 16, he finished building his powered airplane, which he soloed along with several other airplanes on the day of his birthday; and on his 17th birthday he received his pilot's license.
Tyler acquired his certification for flight instruction and provided lessons for both wheeled and floatplanes. He traveled across the country numerous times in small planes and was developing proficiency in aerobatics. Tyler received his airframe and powerplant mechanics certification in 2010.
