Flowery Elementary School’s “Trick or Treat for UNICEF” is a long-standing tradition that is now a part of the school culture. Over the past seven years, the school has donated more than $3,400 to UNICEF. “Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF is a simple, effective and fun way to help improve the lives of children around the world,” said Mary Ann Spitzer, academic coordinator at Flowery. In 2010, Flowery was one of the top donors to the campaign, raising $1,244.78. Students (above) who trick or treated for UNICEF last year, are left-to-right: Susana Flores, Athena Curiel, Andrew McKale and Gianni Palacio.
