The magic of the Black Cat Cabaret returns to the Field of Dreams on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16 and 17, and is the major fundraiser for Pets Lifeline.
Taking place under the “Big Top” circus tent in downtown Sonoma, this year’s event features world renowned singer and actress Thelma Houston. This cabaret and cirque-style show offers amazing aerial performances, acrobatics, music and other creative entertainment. In addition to the traditional cabaret evening performances, there will be a special Saturday matinee for children featuring Le Studio’s Le Petit Cirque, a children’s performance group based in Los Angeles.
Tickets can be purchased beginning Aug. 1 through the Sonoma Valley Box Office at www.sonomacommunitycenter.org or by calling 938-4626, ext. 1.
“We are blessed to have the precedence of this signature fundraiser and to continue the event with this year’s amazing cast at Sonoma’s Field of Dreams,” said event producer and Pets Lifeline Executive Director Nancy King. “Not only will adults get the big wow factor but for the first time, so will the young ones. This is big fun.”
Guests for the evening gala performances will also experience a feast for the senses with a gourmet selection of delightful hors d'œuvres by Smoke Catering and premiere local wines. Along with non-stop entertainment, cabaret goers will have the opportunity to bid on a few select auction items.
Bianca Sapetto returns to direct this year’s performances. She has been a key player in the Black Cat Cabaret since its inception, while bringing decades of experience directing, choreographing and performing with various troupes including Cirque du Soleil and Teatro Zinzanni. She has also performed at the Grammy Awards, for Warner Brothers Pictures and for entertainers such as Earth, Wind and Fire, Led Zeppelin and the Black Eyed Peas.
Robin Finck joins the cabaret as the musical director. He has toured as a guitarist for Nine Inch Nails and Guns N’ Roses. He was aldso guitarist in the original cast of Cirque Du Soleil's “Quidam” in 1996.
