The world is watching, I'm embarrassed
"No President has ever dealt with more issues than president Obama."
This was the statement made by a news media individual about the issue of passing our current debt bill. Obviously that individual has never picked up a text book on the topic of American History. Presidents throughout American history have dealt with civil wars, world wars, depressions, recessions, and conflicts. The current government is dealing with a problem that is very easily solvable, yet they play games for power and money.
I want to state that I am Republican, but in our current economic state we need tax reform, and we need to increase taxes, corporate taxes, and pass massive budget cuts.
Every country, state, corporation, city, business, or individual spends wasted money on things that are not needed. If you cannot afford diapers, then cutting back on the cigarettes and beer is probably a good idea. Our President is gutless, because in a time of crisis where leadership matters, he refuses to invoke the 14th Amendment; right or wrong, it is necessary.
Our elected congressional leaders are corrupt, and the games they play are very real, and the impact is very apparent. It's all about winning, and our government is not Charlie Sheen and we're going to lose because of it.
I am a conservative, I do not like to label myself, or others for that matter, but when it came to raising the debt ceiling I am against it.
I am embarrassed by the Republican Party, because they did not hit the issue, and that seems to be the problem with every debate. The issue at hand can be summed up with a few words: as a world-leading country we need to set an example, and this example should include not defaulting on our debt, and the creation of a policy that incorporates fiscal responsibility. Our elected leaders are nothing more than the slackers in our educational system. Never has our country defaulted on our debt, but we are embraced by a series of individuals, both Republican and Democratic, who arrive late to the party with an array of board games that no one wants to play. This does not solve the issue, and as I am embarrassed as a citizen of this fine country, our elected leaders should look in the mirror, because the world is laughing at them.
