The Sonoma Community Center will host its annual Student Exhibition in Gallery 212 from May 6 to 27. The public is invited to the opening reception which will take place on Friday, May 6, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Student Exhibition showcases work created in the center’s arts education program. Highlights will include abstract and watercolor paintings, a selection of mono-prints, figure drawings, multi-media works and ceramics. The exhibition also offers an opportunity to learn more about the courses and open studios at the center.

“We look forward to the student exhibit each year,” said Liz Treacy, arts education and program manager. “It’s exciting to see the students present their work in a formal show, and we all benefit by having a dedicated teaching space where students and community members can experience new art.”

Located at the Community Center, Gallery 212 is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For more information about the exhibit and arts education classes at the Community Center, call the registrar at 938-4626, ext. 1.

The Sonoma Community Center is located at 276 E. Napa St.
