Sonoma now has 'Wine Country Trolley'
JONNIE AND ED MCCORMICK and their new Sonoma Wine Country Trolley.
Longtime Sonomans Ed and Jonnie McCormick are launching Sonoma Wine Country Trolley July 27, a new local business featuring a restored San Francisco trolley car, refitted with a full kitchen and seating for 14.
They will be offering lunch tours that include tastings at several local wineries and dinner tours that will take guests to one of a dozen outdoor venues at local wineries, vineyards and vintner's homes.
Once at these locations, guest will be able to taste premium wines and enjoy a dinner prepared by the trolley's chef.
The trolley will also participate in the local "food truck" events around Sonoma County and will be available for special events at local wineries and other venues, and for charter for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and other special celebrations.
Ed McCormick, a former Marine Corps aviator and retired USAir captain, spotted the trolley for sale at the Medford, Ore., airport, bought it and drove it home to Sonoma. He will be its "captain." Jonnie, former executive director of the Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Alliance, will be chief planner, hostess and coordinator of the new business.
