Sonoma man faces felony DUI charges
A Sonoma man is facing felony driving under the influence charges after a rollover accident on Boyes Boulevard early Sunday morning.
A passenger in the pickup truck was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital after suffering major injuries.
Officer Jared Paulson, with the California Highway Patrol's Napa office, said that at about 1:40 a.m., Aldo Martinez, 20, of Sonoma, was driving his 1997 Chevy Silverado westbound on Boyes Boulevard, near Bokman Place, when he apparently made an unsafe turn, ran off the road, hit some trees and overturned.
Two of Martinez' three passengers suffered major injuries, and one was airlifted from the scene. Martinez and a third passenger suffered minor injuries. All four men were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial.
Paulson said after Martinez was released from the hospital, he was arrested and charged with felony DUI for causing an injury, a DUI enhancement for being over a .15 on his BAC and was charged with being an unlicensed operator.
