Bouncing back from their Sonoma County League-opening loss, the Sonoma Valley High School’s varsity soccer boys – who were nipped 2-1 by fellow co-defending champion Analy last Friday on their home field – hit the SCL road on Wednesday and posted a solid 2-0 shutout win over Healdsburg.
Helping lead the Dragons to the victory were senior Iván Chávez’s scored goal and an assist, junior Manuel Young’s goal, and senior Riley Clark’s assist.
The Dragon boys travel to Forestville today to battle SCL foe El Molino, before returning home next Friday, Sept. 23, to host longtime league rival Petaluma in a 4 p.m. match at the high school field.
