Sonoma Valley Hospital seeks volunteers for pair of committees

Apr 7, 2011 - 08:05 PM

The Sonoma Valley Health Care District is looking for three people to serve as alternate members of the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee and two others to serve on the Quality Committee.

The passage of Measure P, a $35 million general obligation bond required the district to form an oversight panel ensuring that the bond money was spent appropriately.

To qualify, an individual must be a resident of the Sonoma Valley Health Care District, but not employed by the district. The board would prefer applicants to have a demonstrated interest in the hospital or healthcare, experience with large-scale projects and financial knowledge. Applicants should be able to spend the next few years on the committee, which holds quarterly evening meetings.

Anyone interested is asked to deliver a letter of interest highlighting why you want to be a committee member and what skills or qualifications you possess.

The board will conduct interviews with all applicants at an upcoming board meeting.

Also, the hospital board recently created a Quality Committee to help focus attention on quality of health in the Valley and monitor available health practices and indicators. The board is seeking two public members for the committee, which will meet for one hour at 7 a.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month.

Anyone interested in applying for one of the available positions should do so no later than April 30.

Applicants are asked to deliver a letter of interest highlighting why you want to be a committee member and what skills or qualifications you possess.

The board will conduct interviews with all applicants at an upcoming board meeting.

Letters for either the bond oversight panel or the quality panel should be addressed to Vivian Woodall, executive assistant, Sonoma Valley Hospital, 347 Andrieux St., Sonoma, CA 95476.
