Sonoma Valley Fund honors volunteers
TWENTY-THREE VOLUNTEERS from 21 nonprofits were honored recently at the Sonoma Valley Fund’s third annual Star Volunteer Awards.
More than 250 guests attended Sonoma Valley Fund’s third annual Star Volunteer Awards on Sunday, Oct. 23, at Hanna Boys Center to recognize 23 individuals and teams for their community service. Sonoma Valley Fund’s 21 nonprofit partners selected their recipients.
Sonoma Mayor Laurie Gallian and Sonoma County Supervisor Valerie Brown delivered proclamations designating October 2012 as Endow Sonoma Valley Month, a new initiative designed to further Sonoma Valley Fund’s mission of strengthening the community through philanthropy and legacy giving.
Next year at this time, Sonoma Valley Fund and many of its nonprofit partners will present a series of public events, seminars and expert panel discussions to increase awareness and build understanding of the benefits and mechanics of making community bequests.
Rabobank and Hanna Boys Center sponsored the afternoon event.
