Shoemaker completes USMC training

Jeff Shoemaker, a 2010 graduate of Sonoma Valley High School, completed the School of Infantry Training at Camp Pendleton, Calif. and was promoted to Private First Class.

During basic training at MCRD in San Diego, Recruit Shoemaker attained the highest level of marksmanship (expert) and also received the National Defense Service Medal for serving active duty in a time of war. Following completion of basic training, Private Shoemaker attended the School of Infantry at Camp Pendleton where he underwent rigorous weapons training in the Military Occupational Specialty of Machine Gunner.
