Sonoma Life
We all know Sonoma is a great place to live and a beautiful setting for weddings and celebrations but it is the people that make everything happen and make it extra special. This past weekend we were lucky to attend a beautiful intimate wedding and an also beautiful but not so intimate celebration. The wedding was a private event, and we wish the bride and groom many years of happiness and joy in their new home in the Valley.
On the other hand, the Gay Wine Weekend was a three-day public celebration filled with cocktails, wine, food, comedy, dance and great people, lots of them. Out In The Vineyard producers of the GWW pulled all the stops to showcase Sonoma Valley to the LGTB community and their friends.
The event’s kick-off “VIP Reception” was held on Friday at Saddles Restaurant - MacArthur Place Inn & Spa where General Manager Bill Blum welcomed all guests. Later in the evening the celebration continued with “Gay Comedy Night” at the Sonoma Community Center. Events Manager Toni Castrone paid attention to all details, including opening the side doors to keep the temperature at a comfortable level.
The “Twilight T-Dance” took place on Saturday at the Atwood Ranch a natural gorgeous setting enhanced by Julie Atwood’s special touch. She even managed to get a spectacular Sunset for the evening.
On Sunday “The Big Gay Brunch and Live Wine Auction” at El Dorado Kitchen was the perfect way to close the weekend. Event Manager Angie Bettinelli made sure that everything was perfect and delicious, including the Mimosas and Bloody Marys.
The weekend was a great success for all, the producers, Sonoma Valley and the two organizations that will benefit from it: the Sonoma Community Center and Face to Face.
Sonoma Valley is a beautiful place and so are its people!
