Roofing secured atop standings, battle on for final 3 playoff spots

Along with already clinching the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sonoma Valley 25-years-old-and-over Sunday (formerly Wednesday) Night Summer Men's Basketball League's regular season title, Quality Roofing also secured the top-seed for the playoffs and now awaits to see which three teams will be joining it in the postseason.

While Quality Roofing sits atop the BGCSV standings with - as of presstime which does not include Sunday's games - an 11-2 record, Murphy's Irish Pub and Blackout are tied for second-place with 7-6 marks, followed by Amigos at 6-7 battling Wine.Woot!'s 5-8 for fourth and the final spot in the playoffs, and Vegas is 3-10.

In Sunday's, Aug. 21, games at the Maxwell Farms Regional Park BGCSV court, Quality Roofing nipped Amigos 56-55, led by Jason Gesso's game-high 20 points, Sal Chavez's 19, Ryan Weeks' seven, Chris and Kevin Schnabel's four each, and Darren Richards' two. Amigos were paced by Tyler Dixon's 14 points, Travis Clegg's 12, Nick Haley's and Zach Jacobs' nine apiece, Mike Ryan's and Derrian Jermon's four each, and Cholo Hernandez's three.

Murphy's Irish Pub topped Vegas 63-52, led by Ryan Tunheim's game-high 28 points, Tim Ausiello's 17, Ben Bryant's nine, Rich Tunheim's six and Ryan Deniz's three. Pacing Vegas were Devin Ajax's 17 points, Edwin Hidalgo's and Joe Neely's 12 apiece, Pat Duoy's seven and Matt Ingersoll's and Sean Lacy's two each.

Blackout edged Wine Woot! 59-54, led by Luis Campos' 17 points, Arnulfo Alvarez's 13, Israel Ortiz's 11, Diego Sanchez's 10 and Mike Adams' eight. Wine Woot! was paced by Kevin Jaggie's game-high 22 points, Dave Studdert's 15, Al Martinson's eight, Dan Flohr's four, Jack Powers' three and Danny Dwyer's two.

This Sunday's, Aug. 28, games feature Quality Roofing playing Murphy's Irish Pub at 5:30, Amigos facing Blackout at 6:30, and Wine.Woot! taking on Vegas at 7:30 p.m.
