R&B to face Heffernan for men’s Jack Benny hoops playoffs title

 

The two teams who battled down to the last scheduled game to decide the regular-season champion and top-seed for the Sonoma Valley Men’s Recreational Basketball’s Jack Benny (39-and-over) Sunday Night League’s playoffs will again face-off for the postseason crown.

After splitting their first two meetings, R&B Custom Builders beat Heffernan Insurance Brokers for the regular-season title and earned the top-seed for the playoffs, which began Sunday night at the Altimira Middle School gym.

While top-seeded R&B Custom Builders beat fourth-seeded Patt’s Copy World in their first-round matchup, second-seeded Heffernan Insurance Brokers defeated third-seeded La Salette in the playoffs opener, with the final results not available at presstime.

So the fourth showdown of the season between R&B and Heffernan will be for the Jack Benny playoffs championship, with the title game slated for 7 p.m. this Sunday evening, April 17, at Altimira, with the consolation game between Patt’s Copy World and La Salette taking place at 6 p.m.
