Quality Roofing tops Murphy’s in playoff final for BGCSV men’s summer hoops title-sweep

Putting the finishing touches on a banner season in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley’s Sunday Night Summer Men’s Basketball League, top-seeded Quality Roofing claimed the playoff crown on Sunday, and, as the regular-season champion, completed the title-sweep.

In Sunday’s playoff championship game at the Maxwell Farms Regional Park BGCSV court, Quality Roofing overcame a four-point halftime deficit in the playoffs final with a 35-26 second-half run en route to a 60-55 victory over battling third-seeded Murphy’s Irish Pub.

Leading Quality Roofing – which defeated the fourth-seeded Amigos 62-42 in the opening round of the playoffs – to its title-win were Jason Gasso’s game-high 28 points, Sal Chavez’s 18, Ryan Weeks’ nine, Chris Schnabel’s four and David Edelen’s one.

Murphy’s Irish Pub – a 70-66 winner over second-seeded Blackout in the other playoffs opener – was paced by Tim Ausiello’s 25 points – including an eye-opening seven treys – Jake Martin’s 14, Charlie Gonzalez’s 13 and Ryan Tunheim’s three.
