Quality Roofing rolls to early BGCSV men’s summer hoops regular-season title, playoffs top-seed
Putting together an impressive run through the bulk of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sonoma Valley 25-years-old-and-over Sunday (formerly Wednesday) Night Summer Men’s Basketball League’s schedule, Quality Roofing laid early claim to the regular-season title by posting its 10th victory last Sunday.
Along with clinching its first-place finish with three regular-season games remaining, Quality Roofing also secured the top-seed for the postseason playoffs.
Following Quality Roofing (10-2 record) in the current standings with a 6-6 mark each are Blackout, Murphy’s Irish Pub and Amigos, Wine.Woot!’s 5-7, and Vegas’ 3-9.
In last Sunday’s games at the Maxwell Farms Regional Park BGCSV court, Quality Roofing beat Blackout 79-58, led by Sal Chavez’s game-high 31 points, Kevin Schnabel’s 14, Ryan Weeks’ 13, David Edelen’s 10, Chris Ford’s nine and Darren Richards’ two. Pacing Blackout were Mike Adams’ 15 points, Israel Ortiz’s 11, Jeremy Mecasio’s nine, Diego Sanchez’s eight, Alvaro Garcia’s seven, Arnulfo Alvarez’s six and Jordan Ruiz’s two.
Murphy’s Irish Pub downed Wine Woot! 80-53, led by Tim Ausiello’s game-high 33 points, Charlie Gonzalez’s 20, Ryan Tunheim’s 16, Rich Tunheim’s six and Ryan Deniz’s four. Wine Woot was paced by Al Martinson’s 17 points, Dan Flohr’s 13, Ron Hall’s nine, Danny Dwyer’s six, Steve Rolan’s five and Mike Sangiaccomo’s three.
Amigos upended Vegas 83-67, led by Travis Clegg’s game-high 33 points, Nick Haley’s 18, Tyler Dixon’s 17, Zack Jacobs’ seven, Derrian Jermon’s six and Chollo Hernandez’s two. Pacing Vegas were Edwin Hidalgo’s 25 points – including seven treys – Sean Lacy’s 13, Joe Kirkwood’s 10, Joe Neely’s eight, Jay Ashe’s and Matt Ingersoll’s four apiece, and Pat Dudy’s three.
This Sunday’s, Aug. 21, Quality Roofing faces Amigos at 5:30, Vegas plays Murphy’s at 6:30, and Blackout battles Wine.Woot! at 7:30 p.m.
