Quality Roofing, Murphy’s set to battle for BGCSV men’s hoops playoff title

Last Sunday’s first round of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley’s Sunday Night Summer Men’s Basketball League playoffs saw regular-season champion and top-seed Quality Roofing put itself on the threshold of a 2011 title-sweep by defeating the fourth-seed Amigos 62-42 at the Maxwell Farms Regional Park BGCSV court.

In the other playoffs opening-round game, third-seed Murphy’s Irish Pub edged second-seed Blackout 70-66 and will battle Quality Roofing in Sunday night’s, Sept. 25, 5:30 p.m. playoffs championship game, which will be followed at 6:30 by the tournament’s consolation contest between Blackout and Amigos.

Leading Quality Roofing past Amigos were Jason Gasso’s game-high 18 points, Sal Chavez’s 17, Ryan Weeks’ 14, Kevin Schnabel’s six, David Edelen’s five and Chris Schnabel’s two. Pacing Amigos were Tyler Dixon‘s 12 points, Zach Jacobs’ 10, Derrian Jerman’s eight, Nick Haley’s and Mike Ryan’s five each, and Travis Clegg’s two.

Murphy’s Irish Pub was led in its win over Blackout by Tim Ausiello’s 23 points, Ryan Tunheim’s 13, Ben Bryant’s and Jake Martin’s 12 apiece, Rich Tunheim’s and Charlie Gonzalez’s four each, and Ryan Demiz’s two. Blackout was paced by Mike Adams’ game-high 27 points, Luis Campos’ 24, Nufo Alvarez’s seven, Jordan Ruiz’s and Israel Ortiz’s three apiece, and Jeremy Mecasio’s two.
