Phyllis Mae Pedroncelli
Phyllis Pedroncelli
Phyllis Mae Pedroncelli passed away on Jan. 9, 2011, family at her side. She was 81.
A 60-year resident of Sonoma, she was born in Odessa, Minn., to Fred and Martha Gloege on May 8, 1929.
The day she graduated from Odessa High School, class of 1947, she moved to Santa Rosa to live with her sister, Lois. She met Angelo Pedroncelli at the first fundraiser for Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital when Angelo tripped and fell into her lap while asking her to dance. They were married for almost 60 years. Besides the Lord, Angelo and her children were the only loves of her life. She was a dedicated member of the Glen Ellen Community Church for many years; attending Bible studies on Wednesday nights and church services on Sunday. She was the former Sunday School superintendent and teacher. She was very devoted to children and treated them as if they were her own.
She loved the little church in Glen Ellen. She was a faithful servant having been a Sunday School teacher for many years, she sang in the choir and willingly and lovingly took on many other positions in the church that helped to reach out to the Glen Ellen community. She taught the great importance of making a friend of Jesus.
Phyllis was always in the kitchen creating delicious meals she shared with the many folks who stayed to eat with the family. Her kitchen table was always a place where folks gathered and she loved it that way, it brought a smile to her face.
She has always had giving hands and a warm and gracious heart. We are sure that she would want us all to please remember that every new day opens a bright chapter of hope and brings another chance for happiness, laughter, faith and love. "Share love with those around you every chance you get." "Mom we celebrate your life and your strong faith. Your physical pain has ended. May God bless you and we are so sure dad is so happy and overjoyed to have you there with him again. We love you."
She is survived by her children, Claudine, Laurie and Dan Pedroncelli; by her grandchildren, Monica Bass, Michael Atchison Jr., Cindy Pedroncelli, Angelo Clouse, Chelsea Pedroncelli, Omar Jr. and Raquel Paz; and by great-grandchildren, Jake and Paige Pruitt.
Her motto was, "End times may be close at hand, so put the Lord first in your life."
Following a private graveside service at Santa Rosa Memorial Park, friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life at Glen Ellen Community Church, 5311 O'Donnell Lane, Glen Ellen, CA 95442, on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in her name to the Glen Ellen Community Church, P.O. Box 41, Glen Ellen, CA 95442.
Arrangements under the direction of Duggan's Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St., Sonoma, CA.
