Phyllis Loraine Martin, 69, longtime resident of Sonoma, died from complications due to a recent stroke on Wednesday March 16, 2011 at her home in Sonoma with her loving family by her side.

Phyllis was born on Sept. 2, 1941, in Hudson City, N.Y., to parents Annabelle Rivenburgh Hellman and Herman Hellman.

She was married for 48 years to her adoring husband, Raul Martin. Together they owned Martin Vineyards in Sonoma Valley. Phyllis enjoyed the beauty of the Sonoma coastline, the surrounding vineyards and spending time loving and laughing with her grandchildren, family and close friends. Phyllis' career path was broad, spending time as a banker, restaurant owner, landlord, cattle rancher and vineyard owner.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Raul; children, David (and daughter-in-law, Christine) Martin; Jeff Martin; Teresa (and son-in-law Chris) Bozzetto; step-daughters, Danielle Bologna and Roxanne Martin; grandchildren, Lauren, Jenna and Kyle Bozzetto, Joshua and Kayla Martin, Andrew and Francesca Bologna and Angelito Jr., Rosalynda and Rolando Abiang. She is also survived by her brothers, Phillip and Larry Hellman.

Friends are invited to visit from 3 to 7:30 p.m. with a vigil service starting at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2011, at Duggan's Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St., Sonoma, CA 95476.

A funeral Mass will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at St. Francis Solano Church, 300 W. Napa St., Sonoma, CA 95476. Interment to follow at Mountain Cemetery, 90 First St. W., Sonoma, CA 95476.

Memorial donations in Phyllis' honor may be made to American Diabetes Association, ATTN: Center for Information, 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
