Party problem at Altimira
Editor, Index-Tribune:
Living close to Altimira Middle School was not a concern when I bought my home. The kids, the ringing school bells, are part of the daily life living close to any school.
Here are my growing concerns: First of all, there is garbage scattered everywhere - broken glass, plastic bottles, gum, ice cream sticks, food and so on. The frontage road is so dirty and full of litter that I no longer walk my dogs there.
It is great that the community has use of the basketball and soccer field areas, which benefits all. However, at night there is an increasing number of young-sounding people partying, yelling and apparently drinking in this area.
This issue needs to be highlighted, investigated and solutions found to stop this growing problem. My concern is for both the safety of the children and families who attend this school or live in the area.
