PG&E - The public always pays

Sep 8, 2011 - 06:01 PM

Editor, Index-Tribune:

In regards to the article, "Should public pay for PG&E gas line mistakes," by Thomas D. Elias (Index-Tribune, Sept. 6), I would like to ask who he thinks should pay?
Let me say right up front, I am no fan of PG&E, but we are going to end up paying regardless. Should the feds pay? No, that is us too. Should the state pay? No, that would be us too. Should the local municipalities pay for it? Guess what. That would also be us.
I suspect Mr. Elias thinks PG&E should pay for it. Well, I've got to tell you, that would be us again. Oh, maybe lay off a few people to pay for it, or maybe don't pay those executives such grandiose salaries. No matter how you slice it, in the end, we the public will pay for it.
