Olive curing workshop set

Nov 10, 2011 - 03:28 PM

With the grape harvest winding down and the olive harvest just ahead, B.R. Cohn Winery is moving on to the business of teaching people what to do with the olives once they’re picked. Don Landis, a noted expert on olive curing, is presenting an olive curing workshop on Sunday, Nov. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the winery.

Landis will talk about the history of the olive, the history of the olive in California and a thorough description of the Greek style of olive curing without the use of lye. A tasting of olives with cheese and crackers is included. The cost is $20; $15 for wine club members, and includes a complimentary wine tasting following the workshop.

Reserve a spot by calling 800-330-4064, ex. 124.  B.R. Cohn Winery is located at 15000 Sonoma Highway 12 in Glen Ellen. For additional information, visit www.brcohn.com.
